Experienced nuclear executive with hands-on accomplishments in all facets of commercial nuclear power generation: operations, engineering, licensing, training, security and emergency planning, new plant development, and nuclear safety review. Proven track record of innovation and achievement. Active participation with, and significant contributions to, many industry and government organizations, including ANS, INPO, NEI, EPRI and DOE. Extensive experience with challenging regulatory issues and interactions with political leaders at all levels. Numerous presentations to a broad spectrum of stakeholders on many nuclear topics. Over 40 years experience in operations, engineering and licensing of nuclear power stations. Positions included Plant Manager of North Anna, Site Vice President at Surry, Vice President of Nuclear Operations at Millstone, and Vice President of Nuclear Support Services for the Dominion Nuclear fleet of 7 units. Also responsible for complete engineering support for Dominion's fleet of seven nuclear units, including design authority, engineering programs, station engineering, modifications, and project management. In addition, responsible for the licensing, engineering and project management for the proposed new North Anna Unit 3. Served as Chairman of the Dominion Management Safety Review Committee, providing safety oversight of the entire Dominion nuclear fleet. Currently providing executive level oversight and counsel, with focus in the areas of nuclear safety review, operational excellence, design rigor, regulatory issues, new technology development and integration, and economic and market analysis. Clients include nuclear operating companies, nuclear equipment designers and suppliers, DOE complex contractors and nuclear litigation support.
