About Eugene Guo

I'm an undergraduate student at Emory University majoring in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. I am passionate about bridging research, engineering, and clinical practice to advance neuropsychiatric care. My academic and research journey centers on neuropeptide modulation and addiction neuroscience. As a research assistant in the Weinshenker Lab at Emory School of Medicine, I investigate the effects of intranasal galanin co-administration with opioids in mice models. I’ve also contributed to projects analyzing behavior results of tau pathology in the locus coeruleus as a model for Alzheimer’s disease. Clinically, I serve as an Advanced EMT with Emory EMS and a AHA CPR instructor. I’ve shadowed physicians across psychiatry and neuroradiology, and these exposures continue to shape my interest in neurologically focused specialties. In the future, I aim to pursue a master’s in biomedical engineering to deepen my understanding of neurotechnology. I’m especially interested in how emerging tools such as AI-driven diagnostics and neuromodulation devices can transform how we treat neurologic disorders.
