About Eugene Ng
I completed my neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship training at the University of Toronto and has been a staff neonatologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada since 2001. I am an experienced medical leader, having completed two terms as chief of newborn and developmental paediatrics at Sunnybrook from 2013-2023. I have a variety of academic interests including neonatal respiratory physiology, systematic reviews, standardization and quality improvement. I have been actively involved with the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) since 2013. I am a past president of the neonatal-perinatal medicine section, and was a member of the fetus and newborn committee. I have authored a number of position statements for the CPS, including the statements on vitamin K prophylaxis, surfactant replacement therapy, neonatal brachial plexus palsy, and the revised position statement on management of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. I have been elected to the CPS board of directors since 2024.
