I’m a results-oriented, non-profit leader who has channeled my belief in social justice into a lifelong commitment to championing the interests of newcomers to Canada and other vulnerable citizens. Throughout my career I have developed strong strategic and business skills which have strengthened my ability to stand up for those who can’t always advocate for themselves. My preferred approach to complex and sensitive issues is to build consensus and I have a proven track record of bringing people with diverse interests and backgrounds together to achieve common objectives. I take a community approach to build, lead, and maintain strong partnerships, community initiatives, and collaborations. I strive to be a mission-focused leader leveraging determination and communication to empower individuals and communities and improve quality of life. Some success stories include:* Maintaining relevant programming by tracking and responding to trends and standards in the field of newcomer settlement and integration services and changes in government policies and legislation.* Ensuring the financial viability of programs by developing and submitting funding proposals, and overseeing and monitoring departmental operating budgets in alignment with approved policies.* Extending the ability to deliver services by maintaining strong working relationships with funders and other external stakeholders. In my non-work time, I re-energize by listening to music from my diverse collection which spans classical music, rock, pop, dance, country, and more.
