About Eusebius Marcel

I'm a software engineer who genuinely enjoys the craft; not just shipping features, but thinking through how systems are designed, why they hold up under load, and what makes them a pleasure to work on long-term.My work lives mostly in the backend: event-driven architecture, microservices, workflow orchestration with Temporal, and lately, integrating AI into real product workflows. At Paystone, I've gone from building payment and loyalty systems to leading architecture on an AI-powered lead qualifier; designing for deployability, clean service boundaries, and seamless integration into a legacy platform. What keeps me sharp is a conviction that fundamentals matter more than ever. Good software design isn't at odds with moving fast. It's what makes speed sustainable, especially when AI is doing more of the heavy lifting.Outside of work, I recharge on the climbing wall and underwater. Indoor climbing and scuba diving keep me honest about focus, patience, and trusting the process; lessons that translate more than I expected.
