About Eva Binder

I am a nurse with a deep commitment to improving the lives of children with life-limiting conditions and their families. My path into healthcare was shaped by the most personal of experiences: my daughter Haylie’s battle with Tay-Sachs disease. Losing her in 2018 was the most profound pain of my life – but also the catalyst for my mission. For her legacy, I founded Hand in Hand for Tay-Sachs & Palliative Children (palliativkinder.at), a non-profit that has raised nearly to support children with palliative illnesses and their families. Along the way, I authored the children’s book “Die Fee, die nicht fliegen konnte” and was honored with the Elisabeth Seidl Award (1st place, 2024) for my Bachelor thesis on quality of life in pediatric palliative care. Today, I work in pediatric neurorehabilitation, continuing my studies toward becoming a Palliative Care Nurse and pursuing my Master’s in Advanced Nursing Practice. My mission is simple yet urgent: to give more life to the days of every child in my care.
