About Eva Brune

I have extensive experience in not-for-profit organizational management and fund development, and have raised more than $51 million in capital, program, and operating funds. These funds were secured to support such cultural, community, and social service organizations as UJA/Jewish Federation (major gifts, NYC and San Francisco), New York Irish Center, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Visual Arts Center of Alaska, Museum at Eldridge Street, The CityKids Foundation, and Big Apple Circus, among others. I bring an unique perspective to strengthening and expanding the capacity of organizations in both rural and urban settings, locally, nationally, and internationally. My expertise lies in audience and earned income development, contributed income strategies, DEI integration, and board and staff leadership building. I excel in institutional strategic planning; financial and program budgeting, analysis and reporting; and developing institutional relationships with international, federal, state, local governments, foundations, and corporations. I have identified and written hundreds of grants including budgeting activities, and reporting. Especially, I enjoy special event and gala planning and implementation. Experience with identified and soliciting six-figure individual donations. I am highly skilled in executive coaching, capital campaign planning and execution, and contract negotiations. Experienced with DonorPerfect and relational data base systems, The Foundation Center/CANDID operations; federal, state, local, foundation and corporation portals. My work has earned me two National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awards. Additionally, I’ve served as a grant panelist and/or advisor for the NEA, states and counties arts councils, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and OPERA America. My consulting experience extends to nonprofits such as Mayan Families and the Rural China Education Fund, and I’m currently a consultant for CITyArts and CareerVillage. I have served on the Board of Directors of the Alliance of Resident Theaters and Origin Theater Company. I travel extensively, spending two weeks to three months in more than 30 countries, including China, Japan, throughout Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Mexico and Latin America, South America, and the Caribbean, in addition to my travels throughout the U.S. When I'm not working, I embrace the spirit of a flâneur, wandering through cities and new places, always keeping curiosity and exploration as central to my daily life, whether at home or while traveling. I practice hand crafting and fine arts.
