About Eva Cavanaugh

As an Senior Application Engineer at Solventum (formerly 3M Health Care), I work in the Dental Solutions division to bridge product development with real-world clinical applications. I assess the usability and performance of new dental products with customers during development, providing technical feedback that ensures the final product meets both customer needs and clinical efficacy standards. My role combines hands-on testing and cross-functional collaboration across R&D, regulatory, marketing, and sales to align product functionality with go-to-market strategy. Previously, I worked as a Manufacturing Technology Engineer at 3M, specializing in extrusion-oriented optical films. My work focused on scaling new products from pilot to plant scale, optimizing manufacturing processes, and implementing new-to-the-world technologies to manufacturing equipment. This experience strengthened my problem-solving skills in manufacturing and gave me a strong foundation in technical communication and process improvement. I have a Chemical Engineering degree from Villanova University and enjoy applying engineering principles to improve healthcare products. Outside of work, I recharge through hiking, portrait photography, playing guitar, and pickleball.
