About Eva Freegard

Currently an Assistant Field Ecologist on the Natural Capital & Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA) programme with Natural England. Mainly working on the England Ecosystem Survey (EES), involving vegetation, habitat, tree, hedgerow, pond, riparian, soil and landscape surveys. Graduated with a distinction in MSc Biodiversity and Conservation at the University of Leeds. Masters research project focussed upon assessing the benefits of ecological restoration for invertebrates, with particular focus on parasitic Hymenoptera. Keen interests in ecology and conservation, with extensive volunteering providing both theoretical and practical experience. Developed skills as Trainee with TCV, including extensive experience planning and leading practical conservation projects, connecting local communities with nature and working with diverse groups of volunteers. Voluntary coordinator with the Species Recovery Trust within the Tansy Beetle Action Group (TBAG) who work to prevent extinction of the endangered species by spreading awareness, conserving habitat, surveying and updating the conservation strategy.
