About Eva Klein
Eva Klein is a corporate and clinical psychologist. Since January 2013, she has been a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University. She teaches courses in Compensation and Rewards in the business school as well as a courses in the Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences called Competitive Advantage through People. In addition, she holds workshops to residents and junior faculty members on leadership and conducting difficult conversations. Prior to that, she was a Professor of Human Resources and Organizational Dynamics as well as an Executive in Residence at the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary for 5 years. Before coming to Haskayne, she was a Teaching Fellow at the London Business School for six years, where she taught in the executive development programs for such clients as Kone Elevators, Nokia China, China Mobile, and Deloitte and Touche Ross. Prior to moving to the UK, she implemented a wide range of organizational change initiatives at the senior management level for many corporations as well as several US and Canadian banks. She has both an undergraduate and master's degree in Mathematics from McGill University,a master’s degree in Psycholinguistics from Stanford University and a PhD in clinical psychology from Rutgers University. She began her career as a clinical psychologist in New York City and then at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry in Toronto. Dr. Klein's interests quickly turned to Organizational Psychology.She was a VP of HR at a Japanese electronics firm for 7 years, a position that provided her with the opportunity to design and implement a variety of compensation, performance, succession planning, stress management and work-life balance programs. Dr. Klein’s current research interests include identifying the characteristics of late bloomers,(i.e. those who succeed later in their careers) and the factors of successful aging.
