About Eva Lawler

Eva Lawler was the Member for Drysdale and was elected to the Northern Territory Parliament in August 2016. Eva was born in Darwin and prior to entering politics, had a 30 year career in education. She was the Chief Minister and Treasurer of the Northern Territory, as well as Minister for Territory Development, Minister for Industry & Trade, Minister for Defence Industries and Major Projects. She has previously held portfolios in Education Renewables, Essential Services, Environment and Climate Change, and Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics. As part of the Territory Development Portfolio, Eva was focused on securing strategic infrastructure projects that diversify the Territory economy, grow jobs and support the Territory’s position as a regional partner in the Indo-Pacific Region. Driving growth in investment, employment and educational outcomes that benefit the Territory were the Chief Minister’s achievements. These include the design and development of the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct, the new Ship Lift facility in Darwin, Regional Logistics Hubs, the Adelaide River Off-stream Water Storage (AROWS) and an infrastructure corridor traversing most of the Territory that will improve the delivery of logistics and services to the Territory’s regions. Eva Lawler has a Masters in Education and a Masters in International Management.
