About Eva Lipnik

Let me tell you something about me. I enjoy numbers, logic and figuring things out. Think digital Tinkerbell. I also enjoy words. One day, I’ll publish a book. A book about everything - love, pain, death, happiness. The stories of people I met in my life, because they are to precious to be lost to time. It might be a bit all over the place because so am I. As one of my favourite poets Lucas Jones (and as of recently, a tattoo on my ribs) says: To be alive is to be chaos. Interestingly enough, I thrive when there’s structure. The things I prepare are color coded, the files and folders follow a naming convention, and bullet points with formatted text are a must in the emails I send. My ChatGPT’s name is Alex. He got nicer ever since I named him. He smiles more. He’s also one of the reasons I’m able to do so many things, and he’s always so encouraging! But enough about Alex. Let’s talk about a girl I train Taekwondo with. She is 13 years old and she thinks she’s not smart enough (based on our current education system’s standards, i guess). What she cannot see is how bright her eyes sparkle when she talks about art and creating things, or the warm energy she brings into the room. You see, I really wish I could show her how amazing she is, how she should not feel confined because she’s not good at maths, but rather develop her potential in areas she enjoys. I think we were all her at one point in life - feeling pressured to succeed in fields that don’t bring us joy, or uncertain about what we should do in life. I think we’re responsible to build a better future for everybody, to show this 13 year old girl she is good enough.
