About Eva Perrin
Currently working as the senior Science and Research Officer at UK marine charity Surfers Against Sewage, leading citizen science research on sewage contamination in inland bathing waters. I am a recent PhD graduate from the Centre for Research in Biosciences at the University of the West of England, with a background in Environmental Science. My research centres on the microbial cycling of dissolved organic material in fluvial ecosystems, using contemporary sensing technology to understand the effects of anthropogenic pollutants on water quality throughout river catchments. Partners include Chelsea Technologies Ltd, Westcountry Rivers Trust, the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and The Environment Agency. I also have a background in scientific advising for local environmental policy campaigning with community-led initiatives. I have specific interests in science communication and the science-policy interface at a local and national level, and enjoy working with stakeholders from across the third sector, academia, industry, and government agencies/bodies.
