About Eva Sherrin

Ever since my first laboratory experience in a pathology lab, I have been fascinated with healthcare and the practical applications of science. This passion drove me to pursue a Biomedical Science degree at Newcastle University, where I gained a comprehensive understanding of lab protocols, safety procedures, and the meticulous attention to detail required for reliable results. My experience spans working with biological samples, hazardous materials, and diagnostic assays, and I am proficient in using laboratory equipment and managing data with precision. During my studies, I underwent a fascinating research project on E.coli probiotic’s potential against Salmonella. This role allowed me to master advanced lab techniques, including experiment design, data management and the use of hazardous chemicals, all while adhering to strict health and safety protocols. The highlight for me was developing a novel E.coli strain, which continues to benefit ongoing research in the lab. In my spare time, I love open water swimming and swim in lakes all over West Midlands! I aim to carry these skills of resilience and dedication through work in a medical lab environment, where I can make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and support the vital work of healthcare professionals!
