About Eva Sullivan

I'm a science educator with over seven years of experience designing and delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences in high school classrooms. I’ve taught physical science, physics, and environmental science, with a strong focus on inquiry-based instruction, data analysis, and student-centered learning. My work has included implementing the nationally recognized American Modeling Teachers Association (AMTA) curriculum, helping students build skills in experimental design, critical thinking, and data-driven decision-making. I also partnered with UC Berkeley to pilot and provide feedback on a new environmental science curriculum that emphasized using scientific practices to evaluate real-world decisions, a project that deepened my understanding of curriculum development, user feedback cycles, and evidence-based communication. Outside the classroom, I lead a seasonal youth sailing program at Alum Creek Sailing Association, where I manage program logistics, develop curriculum, coordinate volunteers, oversee safety and risk, and serve as the primary point of contact for families and community partners. I’ve also taken on marketing and fundraising responsibilities to ensure the program's sustainability and growth. Now, I’m exploring new ways to apply my experience in education, leadership, communication, and program management outside of the traditional classroom. I'm especially drawn to mission-driven organizations and roles where I can continue to facilitate learning, problem-solve, and make a meaningful impact.
