About Eva Timothy

After obtaining my Bachelor degree in Social Work I went on to work in an elementary school setting with children who have autism. While working in the classroom I was trained on ABA and behavior modification techniques. After 3 years of working in the school system I decided to return to seek higher education. I obtained a Master's of Social Work in the summer of 2014. After this point I became employed with Mountainland Head Start, Inc. where I have performed supervisory duties, worked one-on one with families to improve their well-being, and planned activities for them to participate in throughout the school year. In addition to my experience teaching children and learning various behavior techniques, I spent 3 months working with Johnson City, TN's Homeless School Liaison as an intern to complete requirements for my Bachelor's degree. During my Master's education I spent a year working with homeless teens and young adults in a joint effort with the Johnson City, TN Public Housing Authority. These experiences gave me the great opportunity to collaborate with community partners and develop my skills as a team player to help meet the needs of individuals and families. I also gained supervisory skills as I worked for TJMaxx as a front end coordinator. I was responsible for scheduling employee breaks each shift, ensuring that those break periods were adhered to, managing work progress of employees in their assigned areas each night, and interacting with customers who were not pleased with prices or merchandise. I have a great desire to master whatever tasks or jobs I take on. I get along well with others and am teachable.
