Background
About Evan Applebaum
Hello! My name is Evan Applebaum. I grew up in Richmond Hill, Ontario, and was accepted into the Smith School of Business at Queen's University in the fall of 2021. After 3 semesters, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my lifelong passion - a career in Mechatronics engineering. I internally transferred into the Mechatronics program at the Smith School of Engineering, at which I am a first-year student working towards obtaining my Bachelor of Applied Science. I am glad to say that this was the best decision of my life. Now that I have the opportunity to study what I love, I am happier than I have ever been. My current personal project is an electric skateboard; which is expected to output about 4.5 kilowatts of power (about 6 hp). This coming semester, I will get involved with the amazing robotics-oriented clubs and design teams offered by Queens to meet like-minded people, learn new skills, and apply my growing understanding of engineering concepts. I am also seeking a summer internship to advance my career.
