About Evan Brecht

I have a strong background in aerospace engineering and extensive expertise in regulatory compliance, encompassing unmanned aircraft and crewed commercial derivative aircraft projects (Part 25 and DO-160). My educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics, where I obtained a commercial pilot certificate, a Bachelor's degree in Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and a Master's degree in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota. I currently work as an aerospace certification engineer where my tasks parallel those of a systems engineer with a more strict focus in validation of designs. I contribute to engineering design reviews, program management reviews, and substantiation discussions. I also interface directly with customers and direct project timelines from a certification perspective. My academic background encompasses a wide range of coursework, including space mission planning, orbital mechanics, human-centered design, human performance, and space law, providing me with a solid foundation to excel in the aerospace industry. I have a passion for space exploration and I am seeking opportunities to engage in operational roles and contribute to cutting-edge projects within the space industry. Furthermore, I possess a diverse range of previous experiences that have further shaped my expertise: Community and social services work, holding an EMT license. Leadership of flight operations teams, overseeing groups ranging from 5 to 50 individuals. Responsibilities as a flight test engineer. Development of comprehensive test plans for federal, state, and private clients. CONOPs (Concept of Operations) development. Consulting and training advanced UAS operators. Project engineering involving collaboration with internal and external upper management to develop aerospace research and commercial demonstration projects. Designing test plans to align with project objectives while navigating complex regulatory environments. Conducting training and education for internal direct reports, both in-person and through Learning Management Systems (LMS).
