Background
About Evan Chambers
I am a highly motivated and versatile program manager, with a passion for bringing new products and innovations to life. My journey began with an entrepreneurial spirit, diving into creative spaces where I learned new trades. From landscape design, focusing on dramatic uplighting, to building websites for e-commerce ventures, and exploring the limitless possibilities as a freelance artist, I have always sought out unconventional paths to success. My career took a transformative turn when I joined Google [X] on a top secret project (later known to the public as 'Project Loon') not knowing the exact mission, but understood the impact of goodness this would potentially have on the world. That kind of moonshot thinking made me want to stick with a project that had the potential of being something truly special. Starting on the ground floor building balloons by hand, I helped pave the way for Loon which led into the deep understanding of the anatomy of a superpressure balloon. This eventually led to my assistance in cultivating an entirely new balloon design and manufacturing process, sole ownership of flight planning for all R&D balloon tests, and balloon fleet management. Loon's balloons contributed to the industry's advancement with record-setting balloon longevity. Today, my quest for innovation has led me to the cutting edge of humanoid robotics and artificial intelligence at Engineered Arts. In this role, I am blending my extensive background in creative problem-solving and R&D with the latest advancements in AI and robotics. My work here is not just about creating machines but about integrating AI into humanoid robots that can interact and engage in a human-like manner. This role aligns perfectly with my passion for moonshot thinking and making a global impact. I thrive amidst ambiguity and constant dynamic shifts, which are staples in the realm of research and development. My out-of-the-box thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and knack for taking calculated risks have been instrumental in my successes. Known for my ability to build consensus across diverse teams, I keep everyone to remain focused on the end goal and the big picture, providing leadership and direction. My skills in communicating and motivating at all organizational levels make me an invaluable asset in the rapidly evolving field of humanoid robotics and AI, as I continue to drive the industry forward.
