About Evan Gertner

Having recently graduated Texas State University over the summer semester, I am now seeking new job opportunities where I can utilize the skills I have garnered over the past few years. I have a Bachelors in Public Administration with my minor being Recreation Administration. These two fields, while strikingly different have both given me the opportunity to serve the local community in positive impactful ways. Whether it be interning for Congressman Michael McCaul or leading an after school recreation program for middle school children, my goal is to have a meaningful impact large or small. Over the past nine years of volunteering, mostly with children and the homeless I have discovered how rewarding these experiences are and how my own skills and qualities have contributed to my success. In any role that I am involved in I bring a combination of determination, dedication, and positivity that has helped me excel in roles that are centered around personal interactions. In my six month internship working for Congressman McCaul, my success as one of the top five performers on the team came from the embodiment of these skills. The determination I embody every day, to maximize my personal impact in a positive way can be attributed to how rewarding it is to achieve successes when faced with challenges. This, as well as well as the satisfaction I get from helping other people has shaped me into the driven and selfless person that I am today. Over the past three years working in my current position as a closing expert at Target, I have had the opportunity to solidify my skills and grow in my role taking on more responsibility. In this position I play many different roles depending on the day, acting as a support for all of the other areas of the store and leading those who work with me in my own area. Having the most experience in my position on the team as well as having trained many of the people I work with, I have had the privilege of rising above my role and demonstrating my strong leadership capability. This has been recognized by those in the top leadership positions at my store, as well as by my coworkers who come to me before an actual leader. It is because of my strong work ethic, positive attitude, and strong determination to flourish in anything I do that has led me to such great successes so far, however I strive for more. I want to utilize my strengths, skills, and my radiant positivity to meaningfully impact a company or organization across the spectrum be it company wide down to a personal level.
