About Evan Gorman

Evan is an Emmy-nominated natural storyteller. As Independence Bank's Content Marketing Specialist, he works alongside members of senior management on an array of communication projects. Specific responsibilities for him include overseeing earned efforts for the financial institution by developing and distributing press releases, writing website content and managing media relations. The University of Kentucky graduate also guides the company's paid budget through media planning and buying while trafficking advertisements on various avenues across its 15-county footprint. Additionally, he spearheads portions of internal communication such as the production of quarterly magazines, the annual report and an employee newscast. Featured nationally, Evan previously spent more than seven consecutive years as a broadcast reporter, anchor and producer in local newsrooms reaching television viewers in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. He has covered a Presidential visit, interviewed numerous entertainers including a Grammy winner and shared daily health-related information spanning two years during the global Coronavirus pandemic. Evan credits his career, which began in community development, with an education. Evan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. As a multi-term Dean’s List recipient, he served as both a teaching assistant and peer tutor for Communication courses. Evan was honored to be recognized with the “Outstanding Senior” award by UK's College of Communication and Information Studies faculty. Evan has collaborated with national and international companies such as PepsiCo, Yum! Brands, Phocus Energy and Ronald McDonald House Charities. His most proud accomplishment remains helping raise nearly one million dollars in tornado relief for victims of western Kentucky. He is an alumnus of the Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity and has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Happy Feet, The Nest (For Women, Children and Families) and area youth athletic leagues.
