Who is Evan? What drives Evan? What does Evan believe in? You’re probably asking yourself these questions as you come across my profile… as you should. Here’s what you should know about me: I am a digital content producer for ABC News affiliate 21Alive News in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I have spent the past several years expanding on my versatility in writing and content creation. I have also sharpened interviewing skills during my career, scheduling and conducting interviews with high-profile people such as the former President of Manchester University, as well as the Vice President of General Motors North America. I am also a small business owner of Planet Nave Photography (yes, it’s my name backwards), and I have been creating photo content and implementing social media marketing and SEO strategies in my business for the past five years. I currently hold two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in English Composition, and a Master of Arts in Journalism. I have worked alongside seasoned journalists as both a Media Relations Assistant for Manchester University and an Editorial and Advertising Writer for Fort Wayne Newspapers, further sharpening my AP style writing skills, immersing myself in digital storytelling and communications, and digital magazine journalism skills. I have also collaborated with an experienced journalist that has connections close to the British Royal Family. Here, I was trained how to properly proofread and line edit news story drafts for publication. I am driven to see everyone work towards living in an equitable society that allows all, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual or gender identity to thrive and flourish. I won the Rising Student Leader of the Year Award at Manchester University in 2019 for my grassroots activism to create safe spaces for all students who experience depression, anxiety, and racial discrimination. I am looking to break into the advertising and tech fields and accomplish technical writing and project or content management. I am always open to learning new skills and concepts, which enhances my versatility across several career fields, including advertising and news media.
