About Evan Hitsky

Hi, I’m Evan Hitsky. I recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Data Science. I’m passionate about utilizing my skills to create meaningful solutions and analysis of real world problems, and I am eager to bring my expertise to a collaborative team in which I can further grow my own abilities. I bring a strong work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to lead or collaborate effectively within a team. As a founding member of the BlueLAB Metro Data Visualization team, I developed Python-based data visualizations to model carbon sequestration and food waste reduction efforts in my local community. During my internship at Equitable, I developed machine learning models to predict agent performance based on their premium sales, reducing model error by 20-40%. I also worked in a capstone group to classify interview performance based on various factors such as body language, facial expressions, and vocabulary, which achieved an R2 value of 0.30 utilizing ridge regression.
