About Evan McKague

My name is Evan McKague, and I'm a manager-turned-programming fiend! When I graduated with my first Bachelor of Science degree in 2014, I was naïve to how technology could impact my career goals. Like so many others, I wanted to help people in a meaningful way, which is why I pursued a degree in Psychology and have spent the time since serving as a manager at my alma mater. However, as I began coding independently and developing tools to automate and expedite some of my job functions, I began to realize that the most effective way to serve the public was to develop technology to help me do so. The inventions that have improved our lives have largely come from the field of computer science, an area of study that I am excited to now participate in. Now set to graduate in August of this year, I have Python, JavaScript, C, React, Git/GitHub, HTML, CSS, Java, Node.js, and a few others under my belt. I'm enjoying learning MongoDB, Kubernetes, and Docker at the moment, and I'm open to any other languages, tools, or frameworks I can get my hands on. In my spare time, I enjoy spoiling my dog, CrossFit, Magic the Gathering (and many other nerdy pursuits), and backpacking. I'd love to chat about all things coding or otherwise!
