Background
About Evan McKissack
Mission: “Build men through the game of football.” What does this entail? I want to use the platform as coach to help support, serve, lead, and mentor players by instilling in them the values of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-discipline, and servant-hood so that may be good men in society, good husbands, and good fathers. Vision: “Build a great program that is the product of great Management and the Maximization of Resources.” The most critical role a coach has is to utilize his players to their full potential. As a coach, it is significant to align players in the correct position with their prospective abilities. The biggest challenge is identifying those abilities. Talented people come in all shapes and sizes. Naturally, we tend to embark on categorizing people by mere measurable data, rather than fine combing for intangible characteristics like courtesy, integrity, and perseverance that may fuel a more unpredictable result. The result to any season, quota, or individual development can be somewhat unpredictable due to the variance of possible circumstances. However, a plan or process put in place can help guide the team or organization to more beneficial intended outcomes. This plan or process. Truthfully is where the calluses are formed. It can only be done through HARD WORK, CONSISTENCY, and LOYALTY to the foundation to which your TEAM is built on. My mission and vision are what fuels my passion to stay in coaching. My mission and vision also give me purpose and a backbone of consistency in my decision-making. I have found that having a concrete mission statement allows you to stay consistent to who you are and what you value no matter what title you hold.
