Background

About Evan Rajbhandari

I am an applied mathematician with research focused on mathematical modeling, uncertainty quantification, parameter estimation, and optimization. I have previous experience with multi-physics problems, national lab code implementation, and engineering-based team cooperation. I have worked for multiple national laboratories, notably the National Energy Technology Laboratory, and more recently, Sandia National Laboratory. I primarily support software development for plasma and electromagnetic codes, and further develop verification and validation techniques to lend credibility to predictions. I work on a multi-disciplined team, with engineers, physicists and other mathematicians, with one such group receiving a competitive grant for research into cutting edge machine learning techniques. I am also listed as the principal investigator for a separate project, developing a piece of software to solve a difficult inverse problem.
