About Evan Reimer

I am a third-year Accounting major and English minor at Ohio University. I plan to graduate in 2025 and hope to study law in the future. Unlike other students, I arrived at college with a wide range of trades and life experiences.During high school I worked 20 hour weeks in the school year, and up to 70 hour weeks in the summers between a restaurant and a landscaping job. Because of Covid, I decided to take a gap year after graduating and use the money I had saved to buy and renovate a 1988 motorhome in which I would travel across the country in. At 18 years old, I set out for a five-month-long road trip without any destination. I spoke with people from all walks of life and learned about different cultures, religions, and professions. I solved daily problems associated with life on the road. Most importantly, I explored my curiosity and further defined my identity.To me, my adventurous life on the road represents my enthusiasm and courage to truly direct my life through my desired path. In the future I hope to build a life that sets myself aside and serves others. To accomplish that, I put a heavy focus on serving my community by volunteering as a youth group leader, helping follow students through Students Defending Students, and working on commissioning as an officer in the Marine Corps.
