Background
About Evan Wender
I am a senior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville working toward a business degree in Supply Chain Management with a collateral in Information Management. I strive to be the best version of myself every day. Being a part of sports for most of my life, I have developed a desire to succeed and the understanding that team success comes by way of not only improving and challenging oneself but by helping others see the potential they have and encouraging them to excel. In a previous job, I was promoted to shift lead due to my attitude and the above-mentioned traits. While there, I was able to apply what I had learned throughout my life and continued to develop skills in leadership while playing a fundamental role on the team. I understand being a good leader is not about position, but more about being out front, coaching, and mentoring others.I am excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to the challenges that will inevitably come my way. I see myself in a leadership position at a company not because I simply want to lead people, but because I want to excel and move forward. Owning my own business one day is a goal, but I have a tremendous amount to learn about myself and from others before that becomes a possibility. I take pride in my work and strive to inspire others to do the same. I want to be known for my work ethic and integrity. My experiences in my current job have encouraged me to pursue a career in logistics. I see many opportunities in the logistics industry and opportunities for innovation. I chose this degree in part because significant challenges companies face with Supply Chain issues due to the ever-changing world and I want to help in determining solutions for these companies.
