About Evan Wright

I am a barrister and partner in JMW's Business Crime and Professional Regulation team. I am also a CMC qualified Civil + Commercial Mediator, as well as a Law Society certified Lexcel Consultant. I qualified as a solicitor in 1997 after working for five years as a clerk in the defence and prosecution of serious fraud cases. I have a desk comprising of - Professional regulatory matters, usually solicitors / accountants / clinical professionals / architects and others facing professional regulatory investigation and/or criminal proceedings- Defence instructions in matters prosecuted by - HMRC, CMA, DBIS, BEIS, Trading Standards, HSE, MHRA, CPS, FCA, as well as HMRC matters at Tribunal and civil applications by the FCA- I also spend an increasing amount of time representing in coroner's inquests, whether on behalf of medical staff or families. Very interesting, engaging and rewarding, if somewhat sensitive at times. I present seminars from time to time and some clips are posted here- Happy to compare notes and discuss current problems.
