About Evangelos Tzitzis

Evangelos Tzitzis serves as Gas Manager at INTERTANKO, where he leads the Association’s gas tanker strategy. In this role, he advises members, represents industry interests at global forums such as the IMO, and guides the activities of INTERTANKO’s Gas Tanker Committee (GTC). As Secretary of the GTC, Evangelos is instrumental in coordinating committee work, drafting key publications and bulletins, and fostering collaboration across specialised gas-focused working groups. He also represents INTERTANKO at leading international regulatory bodies, including the IMO, SIGTTO, advocating for industry best practices and forward-looking regulatory developments in the gas shipping sector. Before joining INTERTANKO, Evangelos served as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) at Latsco Marine Management Inc. and Latsco LNG Marine Management Inc, where he oversaw safety management for a diverse fleet of gas carriers, oil and product tankers, and chemical carriers. In this capacity, he acted as a vital link between ship and shore, ensuring compliance with international safety and environmental standards and evaluating Safety Management Systems across the fleet. From 2014 to 2020, Evangelos was Training Manager at Latsco, where he established the company’s maritime training centre and designed comprehensive programs focused on both technical proficiency and soft skills development. He also conducted internal audits and provided onboard support for pre-vetting inspections and port state control readiness. Prior to that he got extensive experience being a new building class surveyor for Gas Carriers in S. Korea plus serving as a PSCO ( Paris MoU) during his HCG duty. Evangelos extensive expertise in the marine environment stems from his postgraduate Master of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and Masters in Science in Marine Policy
