About Eve Torrence

I have always known I was going to be an artist. Creating and creativity is as much a part of me as my blood and bones are and art is something that nourishes and uplifts me even in the hardest points of my life. While I have a passion for all kinds of art and I often dabble in many different mediums and themes, my main work is as an illustrator and designer. I have always enjoyed creating new concepts, characters, stories, and worlds and transporting people to them through my work. There are no specific or overarching themes to my work as I like to explore many different ideas and inspirations, but what recurs most often in my art is its focus on character and story. I work mainly in the digital medium with my art which is generally illustrations or designs, often with brighter more saturated color palettes with references to comic or cartoon art styles. The source of the inspiration for my art comes from the media that I consume in my day to day life, including movies, shows, books, artwork, and of course my friends and family. When making art I usually start with finding references and inspiration for what I want to create, then I sketch out several different ideas and combine and refine them until I am satisfied. While I create art mainly because not creating art is like denying a part of myself, I also create because I want to have work that will inspire others. I hope that through the continuous improvement of my abilities someone will find themselves drawn to art because of my influence.
