Graduated from the joint University of British Columbia and British Columbia Institute of Technology Honours in Biotechnology program in 2014 with a Bachelor's in Science. Started graduate school in the Master's in Science program in the department of Microbiology and Immunology in 2014 and transferred to the PhD program in 2015. Graduate project involves researching a novel form of bacterial motility exhibited by the pathogen, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, observed under artificial cystic fibrosis conditions. Cystic fibrosis is a prominent genetic disease in North America where more than half of the patients develop an infection by Pseudomonas making it the leading cause of death in cystic fibrosis patients. Therefore, it is critical to understand this pathogen in order to better target it for treatment development.
