Background

About Everett Gordon

As an Anthropology and Environmental Studies major at Bowdoin College, I desire to uplift voices, cultivate understanding, and use my curiosity to advocate for sustainable, regenerative, and sovereign relationships between people and places. In addition to seeking ways to strengthen human-environment relationships through my academic work, I am dedicated to furthering my knowledge and awareness through volunteering, work experience, and independent curiosities.I currently work in Bowdoin's Sustainability Office where I dynamically design and implement sustainability programming across campus, as a Writing Assistant in the Baldwin Center for Learning and Teaching where I coach a diverse range of students through the writing process, and as a Tour Guide in the Admissions Office where I develop my public speaking skills and represent Bowdoin as an active and engaged student. I have volunteered hundreds of hours learning about and implementing restorative conservation practices on Hawai'i Island, and I brew homemade kombucha in my dorm room as an exploration of the fascinating micro-world of bacteria and yeasts that are crucial to our own microbiomes. Regardless of where and what I find myself engaged in, I approach new opportunities with a curious mind, open heart, and appreciation for the present moment.
