About Evert Haasdijk
I've been active as researcher, consultant and entrepreneur in artificial intelligence, machine learning and data mining for over 25 years. I was one of the key developers of a machine learning application to assess credit risk, started a data mining practice in Cap Gemini and was CTO of a successful AI startup. I subsequently joined the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam to research self-learning robots that can adapt to new tasks and environments. Since early 2018, I've joined Deloitte as a senior manager with a keen focus on AI-enabled solutions that actually make an impact. My main strength is my capability to translate between the abstract, theoretic and the concrete, practical level. This has always helped me to bring my technological understanding to bear on actual problems. I can develop creative, novel solutions to problems. I am enthusiastic and always on the lookout for ways to improve my own functioning as well as that of those around me. I am keen to exploit new opportunities and to convince others of their merit.
