About Evie Crouch

Environmental Educator and Campaigner working to restore connections between people, nature, and community in East London. With an academic background in Ecology and Conservation (BSc, MSc (Hons.)), my passion and dedication to the natural world drives my desire to share knowledge and inspire others. My journey into Environmental Communication began as a Research Assistant at Cambridge University, where I delivered Public Engagement initiatives for the Museum of Zoology. Collaborating with the Wildlife Trust, I organized large-scale events that provided diverse participants with enjoyable and creative experiences that effectively raised awareness of the ongoing insect decline. Currently, as Education Officer for Cody Dock—an environmental charity and community hub—I actively engage individuals with the ecology, waterways, and heritage of the Lower River Lea Valley. With a strong focus on fostering the connections between people, nature, and the community in East London, my work strives to strike a refined balance of being both informative and engaging. I achieve this through a thoughtful fusion of captivating narratives and impactful, relevant information. Alongside this, I also lead the Urban Nature Campaign for UK Youth For Nature, a youth led organisation focused on mobilising and empowering young people to advocate the decisive action on nature and wildlife in the UK. Launched in 2023, the Urban Nature campaign calls for the restructure our cities so that they function for the needs of both people and nature. As part of the campaign, I am organising the organisation’s inaugural ‘Urban Nature festival’. The event aims to provide a fun creative space to build community and capacity within our youth base whilst highlighting the abundance of living organisms we can find on our doorstep, even within the most hostile built-up environments.
