About Evon Ho

Evon is an experienced Regulatory Affairs & Policy professional with the belief that public policy environments can be shaped through collaborative relationships between government and industry. With nearly a decade of advising experience in the healthcare and health/wellness consumer product industries, Evon has led strategic regulatory compliance activities throughout the life cycle for Canadian start ups to multinational organizations undergoing international expansion and representing clients through legislative changes governing Natural Health Products (NHP's), Dietary Supplements, Foods, Cosmetics, OTC Drugs, and Devices. An expert in the Canadian regulatory landscape and combined with her international licensing experience, she acts as the Principal/Consultant in her own consulting firm to narrow the compliance gap for both foreign and local businesses to achieve market access. Her leadership vision is to position effective, safe, and compliant health products on the market by working with external and internal stakeholders through a culture of education, collaboration, and empowerment of teams. Evon holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Edinburgh and combined with clinical nutrition training, focused her policy pursuits in the evaluation and effectiveness of Health Canada's self-care product regulatory framework for licensing NHP's. During this time Evon represented as an industry stakeholder with Health Canada, contributing to the amendment of the federal Natural Health Product Regulations in 2020. She also consulted on various federal health policy initiatives including Canadian Dietary Guidelines and Healthy Eating Strategy - Food & Beverage Marketing to Children. Academic interests include the development of effective compliance programs, international health policy, analysis, and policy effectiveness evaluations. Evon has supported organizations in nutrition R&D, technical and scientific affairs, providing research translation into evidence-based marketing, education, and program development in the public and for-profit sectors. As a nutritional therapist/health practitioner, she is trained in counselling theory, conflict/ crisis management, and focuses on immigrant health, cultural food practices and supportive eating/weight attitudes.
