Background
About Ewa Chukwu
Passionate about contributing to the global shift towards sustainable chemical, energy, and product manufacturing, I bring my over six years of dedicated technical research experience to the table. I focus on developing innovative catalytic technologies to empower milder decarbonization and sustainable energy production strategies. Drawing on my expertise in heterogeneous catalysis and chemical reaction engineering, I specialize in developing and characterizing diverse catalytic materials and reaction systems for low-temperature valorization of greenhouse gases, hydrogen storage, and transport. Contrary to the widespread perception, I am a member (co-1st author) of the research team that was the first to report and demonstrate that catalysis by magnetic induction heating could be mechanistically distinct from standard thermal reactions. Beneficial to the electrification of the chemical industry, together with my co-workers, we are leading the pioneering efforts to establish catalysis by magnetic induction heating as a new category of chemical reaction engineering. In my previous role as a chemical process engineer, I acquired hands-on skills in implementing, optimizing, and managing new and existing energy and chemical manufacturing processes. I have solid experiences in pre-commissioning, commissioning, initial start-up and full-scale engineering of energy and chemical manufacturing processes, positioning me to make tangible contributions to the ongoing transition to sustainable technologies. Beyond technical proficiency, I excel in communication—both technical and non-technical. This skill set has enabled me to convey complex ideas to diverse stakeholders, fostering shared understanding and commitment to project goals. With a track record of working with and leading cross-functional teams, I am poised to contribute significantly to advancing our global goal towards net-zero to negative carbon emissions.
