Background
About Ewan Tarrant
I am the Retrievals Toolchain Team Lead at GHGSat. The Retrievals Toolchain is a suite of scientific software tools that process satellite and aircraft imagery acquired by GHGSat sensors, retrieving greenhouse gas concentration (primarily CH4, CO2) encoded in the images. I have over 15 years experience developing and delivering production-grade scientific software (mainly C++) that runs on local compute clusters and in the cloud. Most of this software requires fitting physics-based mathematical models to experimental data via non-linear optimization algorithms. This is experience gained in private companies, engineering consultancy and academia. I have a PhD in Theoretical Physics and a strong track record in industry focused research.
