As an scientist with over 45 years in food safety, in particular relating to foodborne outbreaks, I have written many publications and spoken at national and international meetings. I am currently working on Listeria transfer coefficient and modeling projects, hygiene in child care centers, avoidance of norovirus in elder care facilities, and rapid recall and traceability research in multidisciplinary projects with colleagues at MSU and other univerisities. I have chaired the Committee for Control of Foodborne Illness for the International Association for Food Protection since and with this group have published 6 papers on outbreaks relating to food workers, and have 5 more on hand hygiene in press, as well as proposing and organising symposia at annual meetings relating to the Committee's mandate.
