About Ezra Rosenberg
After two wonderful decades at Dechert LLP, I retired on October 31, 2014, to begin work as Special Senior Counsel in the Legal Mobilization Project of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. In July 2015, I was named Co-Director of the Lawyers' Committee's Voting Rights Project, where I supervise voting rights litigation and help with election protection efforts. The Lawyers' Committee is an organization founded in 1963 at the request of President Kennedy following a meeting at the White House of 244 leading members of the bar. At that meeting, President Kennedy, Vice President Johnson, and Attorney General Robert Kennedy urged the lawyers to use their skills and influence in the struggle for the protection of civil rights. Working with lawyer volunteers from the private bar, and supported by law firms, foundations, corporations, and individuals, the Lawyers' Committee has had a leading role in the fight for equality and justice in housing, employment, education, and voting rights.
