Background

About Fabian Apel

I grew up in Scotland, finished high-school in France and graduated university in The Netherlands. I have found the international community to be the environment in which I thrive, while maintaining a connection to my roots.Professionally, I sought to enable positive impact towards a sustainable future with finance and business by working in a Fintech start-up, Equidam, and developing financial models for business cases of other start-ups worldwide during their fund raising activities. Now, together with my former colleague from Equidam, we are challenging the current solutions to finding and communicating viable ingredient alternatives with our data-driven approach solution, BonAPI. While still in its early stages, BonAPI has in it the potential to continue my goal of leveraging business for positive impact and working towards a sustainable future—this time not indirectly by supporting other ventures, but directly through assisting in the adoption of more plant based diets among consumers, enabling impact conscious consumption and facilitating more efficient allocation of overstocked ingredients, reducing waste.
