About Fabien Degalez

As a young scientist specialized in genetics, genomics and bioinformatics, my research focuses on improving genome annotation and studying the regulation of gene expression, with the aim of unraveling the complex relationships between genotypes and phenotypes. This research has mainly been carried out in laying hens, but the use of comparative approaches based on the conservation of elements between species has made it possible to extend this research to a wider panel, including model and domesticated animal species. These various studies have been promoted through various collaborations and several scientific publications and presentations. Through an exchange to Canada, a mobility to Stanford University and partnerships with foreign laboratories, I also had the opportunity to gain international experience. Finally, my desire to communicate and pass on my knowledge to an audience as wide as possible has led me to experiment with teaching, student supervision and scientific popularization.
