About Fabio Borghetti

I’m a postdoctoral researcher at Politecnico di Milano (Italy), where I received my master's degree in civil engineering - transport infrastructure in 2007. In 2014 I received my PhD in Infrastructure and Transportation at Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy). In 2023, I was awarded the National Scientific qualification as an Italian higher education system associate professor. Since 2007 I work at the Mobility and Transport Laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano as a Tenure Track Researcher (RTT) and I deal with the assessment of risk and resilience of transport networks following relevant events, the implementation of electric mobility for private and collective transport, and the relationship between transport systems and the territory. I also participate in studies and research projects on the planning, managing, and optimizing sustainable transport systems for people and goods. I am the author of over 100 publications, including over 75 indexed by Scopus or Web of Science, including two scientific books. I am the supervisor of 22 master's theses, co-supervisor of 12 master's theses, and opponent of 47 master's theses. In 2009/2010 and 2010/2011, I received a teaching assignment for the “Anthropic Transport Risk” course at the Faculty of Civil, Environmental, and Territorial Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. From the 2018/2019 academic year to the 2021/2022 academic year, I received a teaching assignment for the course “Transport Planning and Economics” at the School of Industrial and Information Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. From the 2024/2025 academic year, I received a teaching assignment for the “Transport Risk Management In Emergency Planning” course at the School of Civil, Environmental and Territorial Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. Finally, I collaborate on the following courses: “Tecnica ed economia dei Trasporti” and “Trasporti Marittimi e Intermodali” at the School of Civil, Environmental and Territorial Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, and “Mobility: Infrastructures and Services – Applications” at the School of Industrial and Information Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.
