Background

About Fabio Guzzi

I have been working in IT sector for 30 years. I had the opportunity to work in large global companies in multiple industries (technology, banking, telecommunications, gambling & casino), taking part in complex and challenging transformation and innovation projects. I started my career in Olivetti Ricerca, where I spent three exciting years with a purely technical path. I had the chance to deep and apply methodologies and methods learned at university, I also have developed a structured, product-oriented approach keeping up the focus addressed on the Customers and all stakeholders needs and expectations. I switched to the field of telecommunications (Telecom Italia Group), where I first continued my career as a senior software developer and system administrator, then leading a team of subject matter experts dedicated to the design and delivery of IT infrastructures. Currently I have been working for 13 years in a global company, namely International Game Technology (IGT). I played for several years the role of head of “IT infrastructure architecture” team whose responsibility was to design, delivery and operate IT infrastructure hosting gaming platforms, leading a team of SMEs on various technological domains. Now I am part of the "PMO & Optimization Projects" team, and I manage and/or supervise programs and projects of infrastructural nature in the company’s business and corporate area. I love technology in all its forms but, beyond the enthusiasm that I often catch in people with respect to the "new", I believe that each radical change must be carefully contextualized and approached in a rigorous way in order to effectively evaluate potential advantages, make the right decisions, satisfy the multiple interests and, once applied, appreciate real benefits during the whole lifecycle. I try to devote most of my free time to my family. I like to practice outdoor sports - mainly running - and, if time remains, I dedicate it trying to study and test chemical transformations that take place during fermentation and yeast dough production;)
