About Fabio Parente
I am a cognitive psychologist with a varied background encompassing psycholinguistics, spatial cognition and, more recently, emotion. I have broad and interdisciplinary research interests including the cognitive roles of mental imagery; human-computer interaction; videogames, their impact on emotion expression and regulation, and their interaction with gamers' motivations. My methodological background is in eye tracking, behavioural research methods, text analysis (e.g, sentiment analysis) and quantitative analysis more generally, but more recently I have branched out into other physiological measures (e.g, heartrate variability). When I'm not crunching data, writing papers or applying for grants, you will find me with a controller in my hand, reading comic books, or playing Magic: The Gathering.
