About Fabrizio Stortoni

I am a Software Test Engineer with a successful track record in all levels and phases of testing. I also have a background in software development, which gives me a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle, and best practices for software development and test automation. I am well-versed in authoring test plans, and in test case design. I am able to add value to development projects by effective reviews of all project deliverables, and to use requirements to develop test plans and test cases, and to measure test coverage. I work effectively independently or in a team, but I am experienced in being on cross-functional teams, and in collaborative, agile environments. I have a history of promoting mutual trust and respect among developers and testers. My latest project was a Siemens global project, which developed software tools for commissioning and engineering BACnet based room automation solutions, on which I was the U.S. functional test lead. This is an agile project using SCRUM with distributed teams in Switzerland, India, and the US. At Siemens I designed a keyword-driven test automation framework that overcame UI incompatibility issues with off-the-shelf tools. Building on a proprietary C# automation library, I partnered with developers to implement a domain-specific, extendable test-creation language. With previous employers I worked on control software for CNC machines, optimization software for surface mount circuit board assembly, and controls for automated medication dispensers.
