About Fada Geraga

Mr. Geraga is a Certified Chartered Accountant with over 18 years of progressive experience in Sub-Sahara Africa, undertaking and overseeing financial management for donor funded projects and commercial operations of which 8 years have been with USAID, DIFD and Red Cross Red Crescent-funded projects. At Save the Children International (SCI), he led the USAID Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)/ Systems Transformed for Empowered Action and Enabling Response (STEER) Programs with budget of about $40m implementing financial management systems, planning and procedures to ensure resource control in compliance with USAID contract requirements. He was responsible for all financial reporting including quarterly accruals and expenditure reports, annual budgets and other financial data calls and ensured all costs and expenditures were properly justified. As Grants Management Consultant he managed a $70m budget and developed all grant and program budgets according to USAID expectations and maintained a fully updated monthly management accounts system of actual disbursements against budgets and financial forecasts. He managed a $400m budget for multiple DFID projects, reviewed and approved recommendations for financial planning and control, and tracked obligations and expenditures against budgets to ensure proper justification. He prepared quarterly accruals and produced monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual financial reports. He is well versed in setting-up new offices, partnerships, collaboration, communication and has proven team management skills in Africa.
