About Fahed Arshad

I am a Fullstack Developer with experience in the latest web technologies including Typescript, React, Node and GraphQL. I also have knowledge of deploying applications to the cloud through AWS through ECS and storage using S3 as well as continous integration and deployment. Interested in joining an Agile team where I can leverage my skills. After successfully graduating with a first class degree in engineering, I decided to make a life changing decision to pursue my passion in tech. Subsequently, I took the journey to become a professional software developer and build an international career in the software industry. Since then I have worked as a full stack developer at FNZ, a FinTech company, and OVO energy. My previous role was as a Fullstack Software Developer at FNZ where I built and maintained wealth management platforms powered by React.js in the Frontend and.NET in the Backend. My responsibilities included migrating our legacy system to the modern stack, fixing time sensitive bugs in high security environments as well as taking part in technical decisions over the future of our tech stack. During my time at OVO Energy as a Senior Software Engineer, I successfully led a team in migrating over customers from SSE to OVO's platform and adapted the exports platform to accommodate complex customer profiles. I identified critical gaps in the billing engine, saving the company millions, and implemented a new billing engine, managing the entire process from proof of concept to deployment. My strong communication skills enabled me to create clear documentation and ERD diagrams for Business Analysts and other non-technical team members, fostering effective cross-functional collaboration. As the project was in its startup phase, I demonstrated strong leadership by guiding the team, ensuring alignment and progress towards key milestones. In my free time, I enjoy reading about emerging tech such as web3 and blockchain. On top of that, I love weightlifting and long distance running.
