About Faik Dalan

I was born in Turkey, grew up in Morocco, and am currently attending UT Austin. I love traveling, running, and reading. I am very active in my local Muslim community when it comes to volunteering and mentorship and my cultural pride is something I wear on my sleeve. Currently, I am majoring in Economics (BS) at UT Austin with a minor in Accounting to boost my ability to understand financial statements and an additional minor in Computer Science to enhance my understanding of business tools (SQL, Python, Excel, to name a few). A passion of mine is understanding ways through which we can transfer skills learned in fitness to business. Here's what I mean: when I started my fitness journey, I was doing all the right exercises but seeing no results for a long time. I'd look in the mirror and the same version of myself from yesterday would stare right back at me. just to get up and do it again the next day. When it comes to entrepreneurship, networking, vertical mobility in the corporate world, or anything else, this same principle applies. In fitness though, arguably, you know all variables; your calorie intake, your genetics, the calories you burn, etc. So you know if you keep doing the same thing long enough, you will see results. I believe that by strengthening your mind with positive reinforcement in fitness, you can take these built skillsets and carry it over to business, relationships, or anything else in life. A small PMT today for a higher FV with no immediate results before our eyes. A couple of fun facts about me- I speak 4 languages fluently - I can solve a Rubik's Cube in 25 seconds - I am training for sub-3 marathon in December
