About Falguni Tailor

Falguni Tailor is an architect-town planner with a professional experience over nine years in interdisciplinary projects. She is selected as one of the 15 early to mid career professionals from the Indo-Pacific region in the inaugural cohort of the Indo-Pacific Cooperation Network's Disaster Resilience Program (2023-24), fully funded by Japan Foundation and Australian Institute of International Affairs. She has had an opportunity to interact with a range of stakeholders, including government officials, NGO representatives, practitioners, academicians and researchers in different projects she has worked on. As an Urban Planner in the World Bank funded project "Preparation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan and Shoreline Management Plan for Odisha", she played a major role in marine areas related research and conducting stakeholders’ meetings and workshops at national, state, district and village levels. Major skills- research (literature review, data collection, baseline analysis) and report writing- spatial mapping and analysis- assessment of adequacy of existing legal and policy framework- monitoring and participating in field level studies and surveys (Focus Group Discussions, primary surveys)- handling project database and official communications. In her current role at the Dr Kiran C Patel Centre for Sustainable Development, IIT Gandhinagar, Falguni majorly contributes to designing and executing sustainability related research, educational, capacity building, and outreach activities.
